Return to Kuldahar SPOILER WARNING!
How can I keep from messing my party up completely when I fight the Neo-Orcs etc., and try not to get the townspeople killed, coming back from Dragon's Eye to return the Heartstone Gem? My Ranger keeps losing his class, and the townspeople fight my party because it loses reputation. What's the best strategy? Is there any recovery from losing one's class? Thanks for any help!

The townspeople only get hostile when you hurt them. Maybe you accidentally hurt one with an area effect spell like fireball or spike growth or charmed an Orog and forgot to command him to stop attacking them.
Read the console to see what happens.
AFAIK you don't have to save the townspeople, you only have to kill the Orogs.

Thanks, Kmonster ...
That's good to know. I'll try again (although this means making our way back out of Dragons Eye, with Xoumeni dead but not all the bad guys in the greater area, beat-up and short of spells but still barely alive)! We've done it before! My only save after that was after a townsperson had already been hurt.
You know, this game is not as elaborate as NWN and NWN2, but it's harder, because rest is scarcer and everyone for all practical purposes has to be kept alive! I find I can't afford bought resuscitation.
Thanks again!

Thanks, Ultramarine ...
I don't have any Summons but I do have Speed. I have trekked my party back through Dragon's Eye, survived the fighting and traps, changed my spellbooks around so as not to contain area-affecting spells such as Fireball and poison clouds, or even Confusion, and we are I think ready to go when we get back home.
