I need a little help please.

I am doing a quest at the Choral castle, for the countess. I am to find the person who stole her painting...

I got all the way to the part where I am supposed to talk to the people she lists, but they don't tell me anything, and I can't find any evidence to accuse anyone. I searched a couple people's rooms. The ones I know where they were at least.

Can anyone help please?

did you try bribing them? making them like you more? People talk more when they like you.

As Fable will point out shortly, there's already a thread detailing this quest, if I remember correctly. Use the search feature to find it. It should answer all your questions.
