Stuck without the key and pick

Post by Bunny »

I have cleared all the rooms in the main halls but cannot find the ancient rusted key to open door to go down to the deep halls and the lockpick for the upper halls. Are they in this level?

What is that dwarven ceremonial machine for? Is it a portal to some other area?

Well, sir, you have options. I am not fully aware of where I found the rusted key, but, to your good fortune, it is not entirely necessary. If you approach the dwarven ceremonial "thing" (that big stone circle up the hall from the jail entrance) then you MIGHT (I don't know... it happened for me but not for some people) be treated to a little "recollection" i.e. your characters have a vision of some dwarven ceremony where some such area on the dwarven device is touched, revelaing a secret door.

If this happens (and you may have to click on the middle device several times) it will take you straight down to the deep halls, just to the south west of the stairs requiring the rusted iron key.

From there, you can actually come back up the rusted iron key stairs and make the key obsolete.

I was under the impression that that key was held by the mage who guards the room containing the stairs, but I cannot remember.

There are also other ways to reach the deep halls from the halls of light and the halls of stone, if you can find them. I entered the deep halls from the halls of light, which leads to a very large explorable area of that level, rather than the smaller sequestered areas led to by the main hall stairs. (Both the main hall stairs take you to sealed areas of the deep halls and, while they are small and easy to explore, I believe that the one you are trying to get to might contain items necessary for later quests or entrances. I cannot remember.)

good luck

Slay many things, most especially republicans.

PS - I believe you can do searches on item location at the RoMD area of the gamebanshee sight...

Thank you Trey, I'll try that. I'm up in the Hall of stones at the moment using the stairs abd it's proving quite taxing.
