"Cannot connect to game server"

Hi

I resently re-bought this game, due to my discs getting too scratched.
When I finished installing, I tried to start a single-player game, only to recieve the message "Cannot connect to game server".

And while it annoys me greatly, that it want some connection, for running single player, it annoys me even more, that I cannot fix the problem :P

Are there anyone who knows what's wrong, and how I can fix it?

On the menu panel where you go to when you just launched the game, there should be connection modes. Make sure TCP/IP is selected.

Thanks for the response.

All the different connection choices, in game type, are greyed out.
And I can't see why I should choose TCP/IP, when I try to create a single player game?

I am quite certain me TCP/IP protocol is properly installed too, so I am at a loss.
