Since there's an option to switch Xan into a Sorcerer, I'm wondering which NPC mod character makes a better Sorcerer in BGII.

I would say Kelsey, based solely on the interactions he has with the party (namely Jan, Imoen, and the PC).
If nothing we do matters, then all that matters is what we do.

I would say Xan by exactly the same reason
He has much more deep and complex personality, and some his dialogs with other NPC just brilliant
And his sword (moonblade) gives very nice bonuses after upgrade

Same here. Xan is the later-generation NPC than Kelsey, so he is much more talkative.
