i pulled out this oldie because it was so much fun the first time. but, i'm having character control problems this time around.
at some point in the game, no matter what i do, i lose control of my character and she remains stuck in one spot. nothing i do fixes it. sometimes it's right at the start, other times i can be halfway thru the game before it happens.
reloading to an earlier save does nothing to prevent to this either. the only thing i've changed is my hardware acceleration, as without it turned down, i can't use my mouse.
does anyone have any ideas why this is happening? and, most of all, how can i fix it?

PS: it also happens in any version, from the original unpatched thru the last 1.03 patch.
