Can a romance continue if you kick the lover out temporarily?

Post by Klorox »

For instance, I'm playing a Berserker > Mage (well, I haven't dual classed yet), and I'd like to take advantage of all the XP when I do switch classes.

Can I kick Anomen out of the party, memorize all my spells, and have the romance still be active when I ask him to rejoin moments later?

TIA

No, kicking from the party instantly breaks the relationship. Hence the well-known bug that Imprisonments ends relationships since it counts as removing the person from your party, even if freedom is cast shortly afterwards.

There is a way to do so. Collect all of your scrolls, drink your potions of Genius, move Anomen a little away from your PC, then dismiss him. At this moment, press Pause. Read all of your spell scrolls. Then when Anomen finally approaches your PC and asks 'If you're sure', don't dismiss him.

Neat idea! I could probably do the same with Imoen and net all the XP for myself!

I have suggested it before - put an NPC in a room, remove from party. do what you want, then go back in room and say 'don't leave'.
