Perhaps Peyton realized his football career is hopeless and he'll never make it in the NFL.

It'd be a good career decision for Eli. Stop while you're ahead, because he's inevitably going to crumble again.

Or is that just me?

My own personal theory on Eli/Peyton is that they are two halves of a quarterback that got seperated at birth. Peyton is all world in the regular season and becomes horrible as soon as the playoffs begin. I still can't believe he won MVP for his poor performance in the SB last year. Eli, on the other hand, sucks in the regular season and shows signs of being a very good playoff QB at this point.(Fluke though it may be)

If you could combine the two under this theory, you would either have the greatest QB ever, or the worst ever depending on which halves you got :D

Man am I gonna hate myself for saying this :o ...but I believe what you have here...jeez I don't want to admit this...is actually the recipe for...God forgive me...Tom Brady. The only thing missing from your above stated recipe would be a healthy dose of smug a-hole.

Smug? Who, Tom? He always struck me as a nice guy. And it must be hard not to be smug, being him.

Your theory makes sense, Bloodstalker, though I'm still not a believer of Eli. I think on the outside he'll develop to be as good as, say, Rex Grossman.

I stand by my previous statement...he is as smug as smug can be. He had to go out and prove me wrong though didn't he? That was the worst I've seen Brady play since they lost to the Dolphins a few years back. Much to my dismay they still somehow they managed to pull it out.

"It wasn't my fault...I was playing injured." How about you man-up smugboy and admit you played like crap.
