Thieves Guild. . .slight mistake!

Hi, Great place you have here, loads of information.

Erm, I was playing Divine Divinity level ; Thieves Guild, where you have to pick the lock in the celler and get the bottle of beer for Rob.

Well, I did that, only I wasn't playing attention to what I should have been doing for the quest and. . .sold the bottle of Ale to Geoff! (I think I was talking on my mobile or some other 'lame' excuse!)

Now, I have tried relocking the door and unlocking the door. I have picked up loads of bottles and offered them to Rob, but alas methinks I'm done for and will have to start the game again from scratch. . . bugger!

Unless somebody out there knows different?

None I know of. Try checking out the developers' website, and see if there's a cheat you can use.

Maybe a tad obvious, but can't you buy the bottle back? Also, check some of your quicksaves/autosaves. IIRC, DD makes regular autosaves, about 4 of them. Maybe one of them date before the sale of the bottle...

Can't 'buy' the ale back from Geoff because it isn't there!
As for the 'quick' saves, just checked though all of them and I have none that I can use.
I have just started again, which is a real pain because I was up to 156 strength.
I go play in the snow instead on my motocrosser!

This site offers an editor that should allow you to edit your inventory.
Also, on http://www.larian.com/divinity, on the fora, there are a lot of people who know more about the game than I do.
