Vhailor's Helm and death-Saving Throw

I need a clarification. I just bought Vhailor's helm for the first time and each time I cast simulacrum it seems that my character has to throw a death-saving throw and FAIL it for it to work. Now since he has l very low death-saving throw, he most of the time fail to cast simulacrum which makes the helmet rather useless. What's the deal ??

not sure. but when i looked at the helmets in shadowkeeper, vhailors helm wasnt there. only on with a death spell. could have overlooked it, though.
last time i used the helmet, i seem to remember it working fine..

If you are Saving Vs. Spell with Vhailor's Helm, then you haven't installed the patch...go to [url="http://www.bioware.com"]http://www.bioware.com[/url] and into their BG2 area and download and install it to fix this and a pile of other problems.
