hi i just started a new character and was wondering what your opinions were as to a monk/wizard. i have a wizard/maurader and its awsome (love the spell fire) and just started using celest. magic and needless to say im impressed. thanks for your info :angel:

that is very awkward that nobody posted a reply. so i will post an update i dont know if fire nova ever changes in casting speed. so if i assume that it does not change then putting points into arcaine really helps on spell speed. i can cast about 4 blast novas for 1 fire nova. the ninjutsu screwed the naga temple jump up for me i think(post if made jump with ninjutsu). over all the lack of needing to find a good wep has made ninjutsu worth the points along with the knockback that it does. the spell fire really kicks ass. i put 3 lvl's on it one day with it already at lvl 9 so that puts it to 12 with my lvl 26 arcaine magic and it raised the max dmg of my fire nova about 80 points i have seen it hit for 198 on a moon beast. since i have not made the naga temple jump and gave up after 3days i dont know what dmg i could do with catacylsm(i'm sure i would rape everything). and i still wear imperial armor and that seems to do alright as when i nova everything it dies b4 they hit me. and if i dont 1hko everything i use the ice shard spell and then they dont hit me cause of freeze ability. i have used the crystal wards and love them the lightning crystal also kicks ass. just used the rock blast or whatever named rune magic spell and hit 77dmg with a lvl 8 rune magic so i am going to raise that lvl and then see what i can do with that spell and hopefull get it to around the 20's b4 i get boored again. with all the learning bonus's to raise the arcaine magic and spell fire skills is only 10 mill a lvl so i will raise them a few more till they get to around 20mill a lvl then i will do multiplayer a lot and raise them more. as b4 if you have any questions, comments, or concerns please post then.:devil:

An update

I finally got past the naga temple (used the time crystal) and am now about to go on. i increased the rune magic to lvl 10 and have since hit a 181 with shards of stone(love it), easy rock chunnler kills. i have a question about where i can find the higher lvl rune skills. i have used the glitch for infinite money so i have a bunch of runes but no rune books. i am hoping that after i get cataclysm and increase my celestrial and rune magic lvl's i can use those to their fullest. the protection orbs already stay on for about 10 min. kinda hard to see around with a little 15" monitor but overall just a minor gripe.

if you know where to get the rune book things please tell me!

You want to go to Grymlocks tower do a search on grymlock...I'd tell you but I haven't played in awhile and I forgot the landmarks. Before you go to Grymlock go see Staroxia and exhaust dialogue...she will tell you how to unlock Gryms memory. You'll have to search staroxia...I remember she is along the left or right south of skuldoon forget which..

yes i have all the rune magic spells that grymlock sells and a ton of the runes as i have exploited the money glitch. i am looking for the rune magic spells that he doesnt sell. here are a few pics of my monk/wiz right after the naga temple (damn trap doors). i am also on the hunt for the fire missles spell. i dont know if it is one of the spells that doesnt work but i would like to give it a try as grasping vines works everynow and then for me.

The fire missiles spell does not work and cannot be found anywhere in the game. And as for rune magic, the only findable spell other than the ones sold by Grymlok is spitting shield, for whatever weird reason. So I assume all rune spells except spitting shield and the ones in Grymlok's inventory don't work (even if you edit them in). Too bad, because rune missiles would be so c00l... :( No idea why they even wrote "new spells" on the collectors edition case/manual, since there are no new spells available - the ones that didn't work in 1.4 are still not working in the CE. I'd rather have all of them available and undo the adding of unneccesary furniture in interiours, reason: the spells would be cool and add variety to the game, while the only function of furniture (like tables and such) is to make Urgoths get stuck because they're too big to fit through between them!

not worth it

i have progressed to the draedoth temple and have found that ninjutsu just sucks. i have started using a totemic runemace i got while fighting big bad mog and do easily 10-20 points more damage than with ninjutsu. if any1 is thinking about making a monk/wizard i would advise you not to do it. the celestial magic bonus is awsome but no heavy weapon or armor skills. i will try to finish game with it and then i will make a paladin/wizard or something else (maybe spur of the moment idea). i have yet to decide what class i would use as wylvans are too fragile and around lvl 90 health its almost 500k to raise health 1 point and intelegence is pretty much useless past lvl 90 so im thinking about maybe a zaur or a dwarf (agility actually helps speed up spells). by the way if you want a character that kicks ass pick a wizard the spell fire is too awsome not to have!!!

got bored

well i have got agrivated not being able to wear the deathlord armor i found while in the tomb of souls and decided to make a zaur paladin/wizard. i picked zaur because agility does nothing past 70 or 80, and everybody knows about the strike bug and inteligence only lowers costs and honor is useless so that leaves strength and vitality that as far as i know do not have bugs or glitches after a certain number of points are assigned. the zaur has both of these stats for cheap at higher lvl's (compared to a wylvan). i messed up with talking to mara so now i have to make a new game and try to get to her. if i can get to her and get the letter for vartugg it will be worth it. i have lvl11 heavy armor and only need 2.7mill for lvl 12 heavy armor which is all you need for deathlord armor and i have intelect at 100 and going to wait till voratus before i assign more points into stats. so for now i will work on my magic skills. i have lvl 27arcaine,12spellfire, and 10 nether celestrial and rune magics. arcaine isnt too high to raise right now only about 9mill a lvl so i might get it to 30 before i hit voratus to make the deal for intelect then i will pump str and vit to around 100. i will keep updating. if any1 would like to post about a wiz/? please do as i would like to know what works for you.
