I'd like to do HoW and TotL without exporting and importing my characters. At what points can I start HoW and TotL without screwing up my game?
TIA
What is the latest I can start the expansions?

At any point from Chapter 1(when you arrive to Kuldahar for the first time) and Chapter 6(Lower Dorn's Deep). Even when in Chapter 6 - as long as you're not in final battle area, you still can move out, return to Kuldahar, enter the house and travel to HoW areas.Klorox wrote:I'd like to do HoW and TotL without exporting and importing my characters. Power-wise, I guess the time after Chapter 3(Severed Hand) or Chapter 4(Upper Dorn's Deep) is the best.

You can access TotL at any time BEFORE you finish HoW. Once you finish HoW, you are unable to return to any of the expansion areas.

I'd start HoW after finishing Chapter 5 (Frost Giant Caverns). You might even wish to do some of the areas in Lower Dorn's first, because of the awesome loot. The point of no return is the staircase in the Idol's area.
I'd be wary about starting HoW too soon, because the first fighting area in HoW (Burial Isle) is a beast on HoF mode.
I'd go as far as you can in HoW before starting TotL. The point of no return is crossing the Sea of Moving Ice - when the boatman offers to take you across the Sea of Moving Ice, decline and go do TotL.

When your back is against the wall... the other guy is in a whole lotta trouble.
