That sums it up. Like AB posted, it cannot be because they want to support the original UO. Although many still play and enjoy this game, the numbers are going down, not up. UO is still a success because of the lack of competition. When more games become available EA is going to be on a sinking raft.
I think it may be also in part due to WestWood's Earth & Beyond in development. That would make three EA games competing.
Still, giving UO facelifts (The Second Age and 3rd Dawn) doesn't make up for the utter lack of gameplay. I hope thier "future expansions" include a whole new AI set and new character advancement schemes.
