I'm Stuck... Literally.

Post by terminalnation »

I just got the game for the PC, and I'm currently on the part in the Telos Asteroid facility where you have to navigate the mines solo.
I always get to the smaller tunnel where you need to activate the mining shield for the heat, but as soon as I enter the tunnel I automatically sprint for a few seconds in a random direction and freeze up - as in my character cannot move. I can change the camera view, access menu options, yadda yadda, but my character is essentially paralyzed.

Any tips? Is there a no_clip cheat I can activate?

This is the infamous problem of Kotor games -it was happening in the first one too. Some people say that this buggish thing can be corrected with patches but it did not go away even if you patch the game. The catch here is this lagging and stucking happens if you play 3rd person camera -there is no other camera option but you get my point- seeing your back, and when you rotate the camera so that you see your face instead of your back there is no lagging! So before you walk through the heated area just rotate the camera and walk through it. This problem will come up again in Dantooine and some other places, when you feel the lagging pause the game rotate the camera and move along.

Thanks, i managed to get... a bit farther.
If it helps any, once I load a saved game after getting paralyzed, my character in that saved game is also paralyzed. I need to restart the game to fix it.

Finally figured it out. Trick was to start running, get as far as I can, save it, restart the game and load. After loading I can run the same distance I guess, but the tunnel's too short for it to matter, 'cause I'm free of glitching after the load.
