Cheats Opinion

Post by XArchAngelX »

im about to start olivion fort he second time, i already beat it as a mage, and would like to start as a heavy warrior. i would also like to "tweak" the game a bit so as not to make it so long.
so does any1 know of any good cheats i could enable at the start of the game to make it easier, but not so easy as full god mode and automatic daedric armor at lvl1.

Some mods I'd suggest;

DEJ Harvest - Flora - Takes the pain out of gathering ingredients

Quest Award Leveling - I never leave home without it, it upgrades vanilla Oblivion quest rewards as you progress.

Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul - Restructures the daft leveling system, this can mean really tough encounters early, but with greater risk comes greater rewards.

All of those (and a lot more) can be obtained here: Planet Elder Scrolls - Maps, News, Oblivion, Cheats, Downloads

Another mod I'd thoroughly recommend is Servant of the Dawn, the best Oblivion mod I've found, it doesn't make the game easier, in fact it only kicks in after the main quest has been completed, and your character should be evil really, as it means changing sides and working for Mehrunes Dagon. It, and some other good mods, can be found here: Endrek Sar's Oblivion Gate
Distrbution of games, is becoming a little like Democracy (all about money and control) - in the end choice is an illusion and you have to choose your lesser evil.

And everything is hidden in the fine print.
That would make the game nearly three times as long and as hard.

As for other mods, I'd recommend getting a quick start mod to skip the prison tutorial, as that's the longest most god awful tutorial one has ever been in.
Listen up maggots, Mr. Popo's 'bout to teach you the pecking order.
It goes you, the dirt, the worms inside of the dirt, Popo's stool, Kami, then Popo.

If you want to just cruise through every encounter and not worry about dying the difficulty slider is an inborn 'cheat'..
Right Speech has four aspects: 1. Not lying, but speaking the truth, 2. Avoiding rude and coarse words, but using gentle speech beneficial to the listener, 3. Not slandering, but promoting friendliness and unity, 4. Avoiding frivolous speech, but saying only what is appropriate and beneficial.
