Does anyone have a fix that does not involve buying a new (old) DVD?
Will not install. DVD problem?
Will not install. DVD problem?
I have a Lightscribe DVD and when I try to install Witcher it always gives an error: Data2.cab: (cyclic redundancy check). I heard a rumor that this is because of the optical writer on my DVD and that Read-Only DVD's do not have a problem. In fact I tried installing the game on a laptop with a DVD-ROM and as far as I let it go it installed those files very smoothly. With almost every modern computer having a RW DVD this is a very big glitch on the part of the developers! Too many of the new RPG's need the gamer to buy more hardware to play the game!

I doubt you can fix that error. By the way, can you read other discs on your current DVD drive? Because if it's the DVD drive problem, you'd better get a new one.
''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
