HELP D&D 3.5 Multiclass QUESTIONS

Post by chimomgs »

Hi dear D&D DMs/Players

I have couple questions about Multiclass in DnD 3.5

I play a monk and i want to Multiclass

Here comes my first question: In "Sword and Fist Book", under RED AVENGER it says that u can freely multiclass monk and red avenger (alternate lvling both of em) what i do understand, but in "Complete Warrior" under TATTOOED MONK it says u might lvl monk as well. Does it means same as freely multiclass?? or it meas i lvl both at same time??? (like in lvl7monk im lvl7 tattooed monk?).

My second question is: Can u multiclass more than 2 classes?? Lets say i do a Monk and the i multiclass to red avenger, once i do lvl10 as red avenger can i start a 3th class as weapon master?? (it also freely multiclass w monk)... so that i have 3 classes skills??
Or be a "Monk/Tattooed Monk/Red avenger" :speech:

I forgot the other question i had, but ill post it as soon as i remember :p

Tnx for ur help
I miss my cupcake

First question- Any prestige class that requires a monk ability (Enlightened fist, sacred fist, tattooed monk, Psionic Fist, etc etc) always allows multiclassing for the purposes of that class.

For instance, lets say you take Sacred Fist (Cleric / Monk Hybrid prestige class). So long as you do officially go into Sacred Fist, you can multiclass Cleric, Monk, and the prestige class in any way you see fit. Depending on your DM, he may require you to go into the class at the earliest possible time or before a certain level, this isn't actually clarified (because anyone can say they're gonna go into that class but never actually go into it). Since almost all prestige classes are available to characters around level six or seven, I've always said "you can have the multiclassing benefit, but you must go into the prestige class before tenth level" or something.

Second Question- You can have as many multiclasses as you want. I know a character who has about eight or nine classes (and that's not including prestige classes).

When you gain class skills however, they do not become permanent class skills. You only gain the as class skills when taking that class. For instance, a fighter who multiclasses as a wizard gains knowledge and spellcraft at 1 point per rank (instead of 2 points per rank), but if he goes back into fighter, the skills become cross class again.

Yes, you will be able to keep all monk abilities even if you multiclass. But you simply won't be able to multiclass back into monk again if the prestige class doesn't allow it.
