Game failed to initialize properly

I keep on getting the error message
"Game failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.
In the past I have re-installed the game and it has usually solved the problem. However, does anyone know how to solve the problem permanently.
It affects both the standard game and Tutu.

I've found the answer, reboot the computer.
