Watcher's Keep questions (spoilers)

Post by Raumoheru »

as soon as i hit level 10 i went to Watcher's Keep early so i can get potion bag and a ammo belt. they are very easy to obtain even at that level, but if i go there 2 more items are added to inventory and i cant seem to find a way to abandon the quest for Watcher's Keep. if i just leave the items there, will they still be there when i come back, when i am more suited for actualy doing Watcher's Keep? It has been a while since ive played, but if i remember right all items are wiped after the Asylum and after you get imoen back...

the current thinking is that anything you leave in wk will still be there, even after you finish SOA and move on to TOB. I am sure someone has confirmed this.

You may delay the WK quest forever (as you can do with most of the other side-quests).

The Vigil Stone is the only item which will be added to your inventory, since the Ritual Scroll can be put in a scroll case or even in a chest somewhere until you reach the Imprisoned One's chamber, where it can be used.

Any non-quest item may be stored in a container somewhere, and not only chest - you may store all of your extra stuff on a tavern table, for instance, it is as safe a container as a WK chest. Any non-quest item, left on the ground, will disappear eventually, but this won't happen with the 'stored' items. There are specific areas which tend to be cleaned at a certain point - the Stronghold areas(for instance, don't store anything in Nalia's Keep if you're a warrior and plan to accept the place as your Hold), but all of the other areas are perfectly safe to store anything you want.

WK is preferred by most players because of the reason, that it is available in TOB and you can recollect any item stored in there after the completion of SoA. Of course, you can simply add the Bottomless containers tweak and forget about any item storage since you'll be able to carry anything in your Bag of Holding this way.

Quest items don't disappear even when left on the ground. Of course, if you forgot where you put a specific quest item, it may take a long time to search for it.

And finally, don't forget that certain areas cannot be re-visited so don't leave valuable stuff there. Those are:

Brynnlaw
The Asylum
The Sahuagin City
Ust-Natha

Not really true. I used a box outside of the Planar Prison to store a lot of stuff before saving HD, and when I came back it had all been replaced with a Flame Arrow spell.

I mean, sure, it's an awesome spell, but nothx. :(
