Sideways Cave (Poss Spoil for new players)
You know it. What I want to know is, when you get to the flooded area beyond the cave, you are in a low area surrounded by a high area. Every time I play, I do my darndest to get up there - I don't CARE if there is nothing there, you understand? I just want to get there because it's THERE! - but I never can get up. Have any of you ever managed it? If so, where did you manage to climb up? Or is it really impossible?

Are you're referring to 'Sideways Cave - Hidden Lake'? If so I've just had a look on the CS and there doesn't seem to be anyway up there. There is a small area reachable from 'Sideways Cave - Lost Abagarlas' where there's a ladder that looks like someone was trying to get up there but abandoned the attempt; the ladder actually seems to lead to nowhere, like someone intended to extend it but never got around to it! As the IDs for the area, and the two caves that lead to it are SidewaysCaveNew, SidewaysCaveNew02 and SidewaysCaveNew03, it looks like it was an intended extension to the caves that never got finished by Beth. There is absolutely nothing up there as it happens, just bare rock, like as I said it was never finished.

Thanks, galraen! Yes, I did mean Hidden Lake, and yes I know the ladder is there - I use it as a handy exit from Lost Abergarles, and have tried jumping up from there lots of times, but there is a 'glass roof' effect, even with certain boots equipped.
Oh, well, now you have established it really is impossible, I'll stop trying. I wish I wasn't such a persistent blighter! I've wasted hours trying, lol!
Hm. Someone should maybe make a Mod for the area. Not me though; I'm not a techi.

I think there was intended to be a quest involving Sideways Cave, but it was never finished. For more information see here.

The View From Above?
Howdy!
I'm a player that feels compelled to have my journal map completely exposed and/or filled out, so I explore every nook and cranny to do so, even if I'm tired and/or bored, because I've done it so many times before. I always remind myself that my character hasn't done it yet!
Ladder?! Aha! That makes more sense than it being a broken piece of mine car track. (By the way, I've seen video evidence of a mod that has made mine cars under the pretense of them being lost dwarven technology.)
My first time up there, was from a not so friendly boost from a minotaur who knocked my character up to the usually unreachable area from that ladder.
But anyway, isn't the intended way via the door behind the waterfall? I may not be recalling correctly, but I've been up there quite a few times. Does that help? Then there's always the use of "TLC" just to get it out of your system and appease your curiosity.

Shhh! Be very quiet! I may be sleep writing and sleep reading!
