Lord of the Rings Online is already huge, deep, enormously entertaining, and brimming with secrets to uncover, and with the first free content update already announced for June, should only improve with time.
The second is at GamingTrend with an overall score of 84%:
There's a lot of quests in the game. A lot. In the first ten to fifteen levels alone, you're likely to do 50-100 quests, if not much more. While the game seems to have only a small number of areas available at launch, each area is quite large, and there's a fair amount to do in each area as you progress to level 50. If Turbine brings in new content as they have in the past (and it looks like they are, with Shores of Everdim announced for June), there will be more than enough to do as long as this game is around.
The third is at Game Revolution with an overall score of "B":
The Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar isn't the best MMORPG I've ever played, but I've played that one to death. With strong classes, tons of content, and some imaginative little features, this game is worth a trip to Mount Doom. Or at least the toy store.
The fourth is at HEXUS with an overall score of "Recommended":
Lord of The Rings Online is a rewarding experience, made even more special if you're a fan of the books or movies. It may not satisfy the needs of gamers seeking a deeper MMORPG, but sometimes simplicity just works and LOTRO demonstrates that in abundance.
The fifth is at Variety.com with no overall score:
"Lord of the Rings Online" has obviously learned from the success of "World of Warcraft." In particular, it has taken to heart the axiom that a successful MMO should be friendly to new players with older computers. This is an easy game to jump into, and it doesn't take a high-end computer. It will hold your hand if you're new to the genre and it will provide you with hundreds of hours of escapism into the latest and arguably richest fantasy world you can visit in a videogame.
