Oh, Fallout 3, how hath I missed thee. While it was the same demo we got at E3, we had an entire hour to play, plus the company of both the designer and producer who gave little pointers along the way. This time around I mostly played around with the VATS system (Vault-Tec Assisted Targeting System). What it does is pause time, allow you to aim at specific targets, restart time in slow motion and if you're lucky enough watch little bits you hit fly off your enemy's body. How many VATS assisted attacks you can use in a round is determined by the number of action points you have. They recharge over time, but usually you can pop off four or five attacks in a round if you want to blow your load. You can even target multiple bad guys as well, so just imagine the possibilities! Plus, it's a good aid if you're playing the console version and suck with a game pad (like me).
