Even if you feel that you've played so much Oblivion that the game has become stale and samey, you might be surprised at how much Shivering Isles reignites your enthusiasm to play it. It certainly won't give you a reason to play through the original game again, but everything that was good about that is equally good here and even after a year Oblivion compares extremely favourable to any other game, on both the PC and the Xbox 360. Undoubtedly the expansion is better value on the PC, and you don't have to worry about logging into Xbox Live in order just to play it, but both packages still represent good value at a solid 20-40 hours of additional gameplay.
While the other is at CVG with an overall score of 8.0/10:
If you played the original to near death, then forgot about it, Shivering Isles is the perfect stepping stone back into what's essentially an incredibly involving adventure game. Never played Oblivion before? Then the original will keep you going for quite some time before you can make your mind up about bolting 30+ hours onto the side of it. And if you're a hardcore Elder Scrolls geek, then you've probably discovered all the secrets Shivering Isles has to offer already. In which case why have you just read this?
