Old school MMO players who have been contending with sub par action will appreciate the far less broken combat system of City of Heroes. Attacks are all bound to hotkeys or can be activated by simple clicks, but no macros are allowed, and if more than one attack is queued up at any given time, it will shoot after the first attack has completed. Powers also all have recharge times, so though one may make you invincible, it will prohibit you from attacking and will recharge for eight hours. Cryptic calls it balance.
Finally, it's never possible to miss more than three times in a row, but that's not to say you're always guaranteed to miss the first two times in a three shot punch fest. Because of this bit of randomization, it's not possible to link two feeble attacks together knowing that they'll miss and then follow them up with one fierce attack, knowing it will hit. However, if you notice, by coincidence, that you have missed the first two rounds of action, you may feel content with using your devastatingly powerful third attack that uses way too much energy because you are guaranteed a hit.
