Icewind Dale II, like its predecessor, is a clever game in a well-worn package. It's certainly not the most cutting edge game on the market, but its focus on clever, challenging gameplay in a huge, dynamic context makes it a game well worth the time of those who are bored with Diablo clones, but who just can't bring themselves to join the ranks of Everquest.
