The folks at Dark Horse Comics are apparently working with CD Projekt RED on an art book based on Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, we learn thanks to a report from Polygon. The book will be released early next year, February 21 to be precise, and is already available for pre-order on Amazon.com for $39.99, but if you're a more adventurous spender, you might want to know that the company will also release a limited version with a bust of Geralt, the protagonist of the videogame series and Sapkowski's books:
In addition to the art book, Dark Horse will also release an 8.5-inch bust of series protagonist Geralt. Dark Horse says it will release price information on the limited-edition Geralt bust in the future.
In case you're planning to spend some time at Cologne for Gamescom this year, you might be able to also sample the game's art live, thanks to the hands on demo available at the event:
Play GWENT: The Witcher Card Game at gamescom 2016
CD PROJEKT RED, creators of The Witcher series of games, invite gamers and press to gamescom 2016 in Cologne, Germany, for the first ever public hands on experience with GWENT: The Witcher Card Game.
In GWENT, gamers clash with their friends in fast-paced duels that combine bluffing, on-the-fly decision making and careful deck construction. The game is played over a best-of-three series of rounds, as players unleash their hand by slinging spells and diverse units with special abilities and use clever tricks to deceive their opponents.
CD PROJEKT RED will present GWENT: The Witcher Card Game to gamescom visitors in the Entertainment Area (hall 8, booth B-053; August 17-21) and in the Business Area (hall 2.1, booth A-021; August 17-19).
“GWENT was made because of the amazing effort of The Witcher community - we’ve received tons and tons of messages to make a standalone version happen and now we finally have the chance to show GWENT to the public for the first time!” said Marcin Momot, Senior Social Media and Community Coordinator. “Gamescom is one of those special events that allows us to thank gamers for their support in person. So we’d love to have a chat with you in Cologne, hear your thoughts about GWENT and get direct feedback on how the game plays for you,” Momot adds.
