ACTIVISION SPOTLIGHTS NEW MARVEL VIDEOGAMES AT COMIC-CON 2006
Santa Monica, CA July 19, 2006 Comic fans can see their favorite Marvel characters in action when Activision, Inc. showcases the highly anticipated Marvelâ„¢: Ultimate Alliance, Spider-Man 3â„¢: The Game and Spider-Manâ„¢: Battle for New York games in the Activision/Marvel booth #4315 at the International Comic-Con Convention in San Diego from July 19 through July 23.
Show-goers will be among the first to see live demos of Marvel: Ultimate Alliance as Activision reveals three new playable characters. Additionally, Comic-Con marks the last opportunity for aspiring Super Heroesâ„¢ to audition for the chance to be the in-game voices of Jean Grey and Namor The King of Atlantis, in Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Fans can also attend Activision's Marvel: Ultimate Alliance panel where legendary comics creator Stan Lee, Marvel writer C.B. Cebulski, actors Gabrielle Carteris (voice of Elektra) and Phil Lamarr (voice of Uatu), and others will discuss bringing the characters from all over the Marvel universe together for the first time in a video game. The panel will take place on Saturday, July 23 from 10:30am 11:30am in room 6B.
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance is Raven Software's all-new award-winning action/RPG that allows players to create their Marvel dream team from the largest roster of Super Heroes ever in an epic quest that will determine the fate of Earth and the Marvel universe. With a total of over 140 popular Marvel characters and a playable cast of more than 20 Super Heroes, including Spider-Man, Wolverine, Blade and Captain America, gamers will embark on a dangerous journey across exotic terrain and well-known comic book locations like Atlantis, the Shield Heli-Carrier and the Skrull home world in an attempt to defy Dr. Doom and the world's most notorious Super Villains.
Spider-Man: Battle for New York allows gamers to take on the role of their favorite Super Hero, Spider-Man, and one of his famed nemeses, Green Goblin, in an original storyline which builds upon their legendary comic book rivalry. For the first time in a handheld Spider-Man game, players can personalize their gaming experiences by choosing what abilities and powers to upgrade and when, as they progress through the game. Playing as both good and evil, gamers will experience levels packed with frenzied action, in-depth combat and a host of unique super moves as they embark on the ultimate quest to save New York City from almost certain disaster.
