The unique fighting system keeps things lively martial arts and gun battles play out by aligning "moves" on an action bar but whether or not there are enough Matrix fans out there to populate this huge, lush world remains to be seen.
The second is at MyGamer with an overall score of 6.6/10:
While the game does attempt some innovations (such as the (rock, paper, scissors)- type combat interface and the open world that lets you explore every room on every floor of every building if you want to), much of MxO is built just like many other MMOs. Not that this is a bad thing. You've got to love a game that lets you play everything from an introverted, goggle-wearing code jocky who can literally decompile the fabric of the Matrix and reshape it into other objects, to a sleek, rubber-wearing death kitten who happens to also be a master of firearms and seven different kinds of martial arts and can kill you with a tube of lipstick. At its heart, however, MxO feels like just another MMO in sexy leather clothes. If that's your thing, then more power to you. What will, just maybe, set this title apart is the incredible, but erratic talent of its creators and the unknown quality of its writers.
And the third is at GamerGod with an overall score of 8.2/10:
If you die in the matrix you do not permanently die like in the movies. Instead you will only be jacked out removing you from the area and fight, or revived by another player and once you jack back in you will suffer from a death penalty that will only last for a few minutes as you recover. Factions or guilds do exist in the matrix and will most likely as in all games be a major part be having fun in the game allowing you to more readily explore MegaCity.
