With the 3rd beta of the sci-fi MMORPG Anarchy Online already commenced and 3000 more testers' CDs in the mail, it's not surprising that reports and screenshots are popping up 'round the web. First, one fortunate tester at AOVault put up his first beta file report about the character generation process. Soak that up along with four new screen snaps and you'll be ready for the next bit o' info.

Avault has a development update with Tom Strand, producer of AO that answers many questions about the progress they've made and what else they have left to do before release. A dabble:

Q: What major elements remain to be implemented and tested?

A: The one major element that still has some non-completed code is the TRADE-SKILL scheme, reported Strand. The first iteration is implemented, but since the team is placing a lot of emphasis on trade items, this feature needs to be more stable before AO is released to the masses. This will be a monumental challenge to test given that there are over 20,000 items produced and another batch in the pipeline.
