Neverwinter Nights 2 is one of the only games that will have to reach far to find enough material for an expansion that the original game didn't already cover. The presentation is all there, the gameplay is here in full head-on style, and there's even the plot and characters to go with what is sure to go down as one of the greatest role-playing games ever.
The second is at The Onion with an overall score of "B-":
The interface is universally poor, especially the camera: You'll constantly struggle to get a good look at the action, let alone coordinate your characters, and navigating a tight hallway is like performing a colonoscopy on a dollhouse. The team at Obsidian wanted to make Nights 2 more immersive than the first game, which felt more like a tiled grid than a handcrafted world. But it falls short in the implementation, and it gets in the way of what people came for an engaging, suspenseful adventure.
The third is at TrustedReviews with an overall score of 8/10:
Defiantly old-school, the single-player campaign is a superb example of the classic RPG. And with the tools and the community behind it, there's no reason why it can't be something more.
And the fourth is at Fragland with an overall score of 85%:
Neverwinter Nights 2 isn't the bomb I had hoped for. Some technical flaws and lack of real innovation make a less than perfect score, but those that don't mind (like me) will find a fantastic adventure, an epic storyline filled with interesting dialogues, exciting fights and gameplay that remains faithful to the traditional RPG's. The Editor is a god gift for the creative mind, those looking for a way to play RPG's with their friends and those that just want free content for their favourite game. NWN2 will deliver a lot of pure gaming fun for the lovers of classic PC RPG's for the coming winter months and that's all we need!
