As it is, X-Men Legends is a great deal of fun and a worthy investment to just about any gamer's library. It is fast-paced, long, challenging, and beautiful to look at. The minor flaws with it are easily overlooked when one considers the whole package and realizes that this is probably the best X-Men game to appear on a console in the past ten years or so.
The second is over at Gaming Horizon with an overall score of 8.4/10:
Comic books games aren't supposed to be good, and X-Men Legends isn't a good game it's great. Despite its severe lack of replay value and a multiplayer mode that's seemingly tacked on (though still a welcome addition), the game is flat out fun. Hardcore X-Maniacs will eat this up, while casual gamers will find a very enjoyable and fun 20-hour adventure worth trekking through.
The third is at Gamebiz with an overall score of 82%:
If you're an X-Men fan then by all means, drop everything and get this game right now without thinking twice. It's the game you've searching for your whole life, and there's nothing better on the X-Men market today than being able to control your own X-Men squad, leading them through several interesting, and some times frustrating missions. X-Men Legends will go down in the books as the best X-men action game ever, and unless the developers, Raven, keep going in the right direction, it will most likely hold that title for many years to come. If you're not much of a fan of the series, but still like the idea of using mutant powers to destroy enemies, X-Men Legends may still be your game if you can put up with comic style graphics, and a deep storyline that you may not be compelled to.
The fourth is at Gaming Nexus with an overall score of 8.5/10:
I really liked this game despite the few flaws in it. It's going to take the average gamer about 20 hours to complete the game. I finished it in a little under 18 hours but that's because I skipped some of the optional Danger Room missions. If you're an X-men fan, than this is a must-own. However, even if you're not, you'll still enjoy this exceptionally well written and mostly well developed game.
And the fifth is at VGPub with an overall score of 8.7/10:
X-Men Legends could have been a real disaster, and one that led to more cookie-cutter X-Men games, but it isn't, and hopefully, that will lead to more Legends games being created. Given that Raven Software has done extremely well for a first attempt, it would be a shame to see the ideas put into action here not expanded upon with a sequel. Barring the small control, audio, and visual issues present, I couldn't be happier with how this game turned out.
