This is a game in the same vein as Diablo, or more accurately its console incarnations like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance or the more refined Champions of Norrath. The mansion and sub-basement are like the town where you buy and sell things. But in X-Men Legends, this is also where you access the bonus content and play practice missions in the Danger Room -- a sort of holodeck for X-Men -- to help level your characters up.
