When we started discussing the cover design for Beyond Divinity (formerly known as Riftrunner), we soon enough came to the conclusion to adopt the basic principle of good and evil symbolically chained together. We were convinced that this would look best.
It had to be either the Hero and the Deathknight together or their swords. The first sketch was made with the swords and a chain together. Project Director Swen Vincke and I talked about how to quickly model the two characters and he went for this new idea. I concentrated on scribbling and modeling those avatars.
