The guys over at Camelot Post have been busy wrangling up editorials for ZeniMax Online's The Elder Scrolls Online, including an overview of the "basic" features they're anticipating in the game, an overview of the "advanced" features their anticipating in the game, and a closer look at the game's stealth mechanics despite the fact that we really don't know anything about them yet. A few paragraphs:
4. Interaction With Enemies
An element I've personally found missing from the MMO world is physical interaction with enemies. Obviously there's a certain level of interaction as you slice your enemies face with your battle axe but it doesn't go any further than flashing lights and animations. I want an enemy to grab me, throw me around and pummel me into the floor as my allies attempt to free me from its grasp. It's a rare feature but one I would love to see.
3. Mounted Combat
A feature that seemed to be on the top of every MMO players list a few years ago has since disappeared without an appearance in most of today's top MMO titles. Certain games have introduced mounted combat but for the most part, it's an afterthought that lacks any real depth or variety.

When approaching combat situations in The Elder Scrolls games it's wise to scout your enemies before charging head-first into battle. The stealth element gives players the perfect tool to prioritize their targets and identify the bigger threats.
The stealth mechanic is also a vital aspect in the role of a thief or assassin. As a thief it's always profitable to scout out the higher society of Tamriel before separating them from their most valuable possessions and the element of stealth gives players a more tactical approach, as opposed to just busting down the door and slaughtering the inhabitants. The assassin also has great benefits on offer with stealth mechanics as they can infiltrate a location and identify their target without alerting their enemies or the eagle-eyed authorities.
However, the important question here is how heavily will The Elder Scrolls Online stealth mechanics feature? We already know that stealth will be included in The Elder Scrolls Online and it will feature in much of the same way as previous titles.
