However, those niggles aside it's difficult to find fault with the game. Even those who have played the Xbox version could enjoy the game a second time now it looks better than ever. Let's just hope by the time a sequel comes out they have allowed for the game to be even more freeform.

Whilst not completely reaching the finish line Lionhead has certainly scratched the surface of features we aspect to be expanded and become more common in next-gen titles. Those of you who have already enjoyed the Xbox version of Fable will also surely understand the attraction of jumping into the PC version and taking a new path with your character, whilst also sampling The Lost Chapters' wealth of new content.

Lack of difficulty, aside, Fable: The Lost Chapters just plain works; it isn't the deepest RPG around, and if you play it straight through it isn't the longest, either, but it has more charm and more "smile" moments than any other role-playing game this year.
