Dungeon Siege Supplementary Interview

I'm still in awe over yesterdays's nest of Dungeon Siege pictures, but the DSVault also posted an informative interview about the progress of this isometric RPG-with-action with lead designer Chris Taylor. A shaving about monster loot:

Q: If I'm facing a skeleton in battle and he appears to be carrying a shield and sword, will these items be on his body after he's...well...re-dead?

A: This was an early goal of ours, and for the most part this is still true. The thing is, if you kill an army of skeletons, you probably want more than all those shields and swords, so we have them drop a wide range of things instead, but we insure that includes a bunch of swords and shields to make the game more realistic.
