After I go up a few levels, I put points into Heart of Oak, which gives me, nearby pets and allies additional health, speed and energy. At the higher levels, it almost doubles your health, so it is a great buff.
I then get the Earth mastery and put points into Earth Enchantment. This increases not only my fire damage, but also that of any nearby pets and allies. I focus on getting fire-based staffs and any other equipment and relics that boost fire damage, because the Earth Enchantment leverages this significantly at higher levels.
