The first is at CVG with a score of 9.3/10:
Mass Effect 2 has quality oozing from every facet of its makeup. If you're patient enough to hop from tactical combat to immersive role-playing without a blink, then you'll discover that Mass Effect 2 is a wonderfully engrossing quest that's deep yet suitably streamlined and incredibly cinematic.
The second is at PlanetXbox360 with a perfect score of 10/10:
My journey with Commander Shepherd opened up a new view of what this form of entertainment can do, and allowed me to emotionally connect (and care) with the virtual characters on my television screen. The dialogue, story progression, graphics, soundtrack, controls, and presentation are all well above what so many other games of this genre are offering these days. As of now there is already free DLC available and Bioware has promised more to come, as well as the guarantee of a third Mass Effect game sometime in 2011-2012. I will undoubtedly be going back to Mass Effect 2 at least one or two more times because I will get to experience something different than I did the first time. This game has me so excited for what the final game in the sci-fi trilogy will bring that I found myself dreaming about Reapers and Cerberus last night. PlanetXbox360.com has never given a perfect score, until now; Mass Effect 2 earned every bit of a perfect 10 and for the first time ever I don't have to think twice about awarding a game such a score. There is no reason you should not pick up this game when it's released tomorrow; Mass Effect 2 is the end-all of role-playing games, the best in its class a perfect 10.
The third is at College News with a perfect score of "A":
At this point, there's not a whole lot more than can be said about how awesome Mass Effect 2 is. If you like RPG's, you'll adore the game for its intricate dialoguesystem and character customization. If you like action games, you'll appreciate being able to get big guns and shoot things. If you're a sci-fi fan, Mass Effect 2 is a dream come true.
The fourth is at Burn360 with a perfect score of 5/5:
Mass Effect 2 conveys both a grand story, and intimate experience that will most likely be savored by all that come in contact with it. Mass Effect 2 is the result of effective criticisms being taken into consideration and improved upon. Living up to the hype, Mass Effect 2 casts a large shadow over the rest of 2010 if this level of quality is what we now measure by.
The fifth is at GameDaily with a perfect score of 10/10:
It's such an unbelievable experience, though, that none of that seriously mars the game's impenetrable exterior. Mass Effect 2 far exceeded our expectations and is without question one of the best games we've played. Use whatever positive description you'd like. System seller, potential game of the year, landmark achievement; just make sure you buy it immediately.
The sixth is at RPG Site with a score of 95%:
It's a testament to their dedication and hard work, a testament to Bioware's status as one of the most important developers today, and a testament to what the RPG genre can still do. It's an awe-inspiring, cinematic, moving and deeply personal choice-driven epic and likely to stand out in the future as one of the most important RPGs this generation.
The seventh is at Ve3tro with a score of 9.5/10:
Mass Effect 2 is nearly flawless, it's very rare to get a movie like this with so much detail and a strong story let alone a game. It has a remarkable visuals and effects, strong voice work with an incredible soundtrack.
I look forward to the final piece of this trilogy and to see what BioWare can produce, because so far it's been a master piece.
The eighth is at Gaming Nexus with a perfect score of "A+":
Mass Effect definitely benefitted from becoming a franchise. BioWare needed to make a second Mass Effect baby now that they've had time to raise the first and to learn from the mistakes. Just watch: when Mass Effect 3 comes out, Mass Effect 2 will be the middle child no one cares about while the new born gets all the attention.
The ninth is at GamingShogun with no score:
Mass Effect 2 is an incredible experience. It is just enough shooter for the shooter fans and just enough RPG for the RPG fans. BioWare has really outdone themselves and I can't wait to see what they have in store for the crew of the Normandy next time. Even though it is still only January, Mass Effect 2 is easily my game of the year thus far.
And the tenth is at GameTrailers with a score of 9.7/10.
