Electronic Arts Very Satisfied with Dragon Age: Inquisition Results

Electronic Arts announced that Dragon Age: Inquisition had the best launch in BioWare's history in the fiscal results for the third quarter of its fiscal year 2015. According to what a rep told GameSpot, the success of Inquisition's launch was gauged on the number of copies sold, though EA refused to disclose the number:

An EA representative told GameSpot that the "most successful launch" milestone is "based on units sold, but we are not disclosing that total."

GameSpot also recently reported on the words of EA CFO Blake Jorgensen at this year's Stifel Technology, Internet & Media Conference. Jorgensen claimed the publisher is excited about the series' long-term potential, though there are no concrete plans yet for a sequel:

"Longer-term, we're very excited," Jorgensen said. "BioWare, they just won Game of the Year at the DICE Awards. We're very excited about the success of that team and what we can do with that team. I think there's a huge opportunity for [Dragon Age]."

The lack of hard data on the game's sales and the revenue it generated makes things a bit difficult to fully contextualize, but it does look like the series is a healthy financial and critical place again.
