We were treated to a presentation of the 360 demo being played through two of the possible paths through a dungeon where we catch up with Geralt of Rivia. We started out with Geralt being chained in a cell and heckled by two guards. In the morning there will be an execution, and it just so happens Geralt will be on the receiving end of that. We're immediately given a choice between calling the guards into the cell by starting a ruckus or conning them.
After clearing the guards and securing your freedom -- however you chose to do so -- the player is once again given the option to either hack their way way through the dungeon or quietly sneak past guards without alerting others. Along the way you will also face decisions concerning freeing other prisoners you run into. Your actions and your dialog responses establish the relationships you will have with the characters in the future. If there is a future to be had for them!
Anyway, we decided sneaking would be the best option here, though it turned out to be much tougher than anticipated. Luckily Geralt was able to use magic to snuff out torches and hide in the shadows. Totally sneaky. Sound too easy? Don't worry, because the AI is actively looking for you this entire time, poking around potential hiding spots in search for Geralt. Fighting your way to freedom has its own set of challenges, but the combat was smooth and offered a variety of abilities to use on your opponents.
And reading what senior producer Tomasz Gop from CD Projekt RED told Eurogamer regarding their graphical goal for Microsoft's platform:
"The Xbox version is going to look better than the minimum settings on the PC," senior producer Tomasz Gop told Eurogamer.
"Don't hold my word for this, but the goal we have right now is to be close to the medium specs of the PC version."
