IGN, 2.8/10.
Even ignoring its frequent crashes and bugs, Legends Of Dawn's clumsy roleplaying systems and combat are poorly done. But you can't ignore those issues. This amateur roleplaying game shouldn't even be sold as it is, let alone purchased and played. If you already did, the most efficient way to deal with it is to delete it from your hard drive and demand a refund.
Broken Analog, 4/10.
Yeah, Legends of Dawn has everything they advertise in the description on Steam, but does it deliver them well? No, it doesn't. The game is just too slow. It feels like it will never pick up.
Indie Statik, scoreless.
And that's where we stand right now. This is Legends of Dawn: it's obtuse (willfully, to hear the developers tell it), ugly, un-fun and bug-ridden to a point that it's on par with some MMO launches. Using (read the manual) as an excuse for minimizing the amount of information provided to players in-game is a blatant attempt at using nostalgia to hide poor game design. Honestly, with nearly $50,000 of free money from Kickstarter, you would think that the developers would have put a little more time into this. You would be wrong. Legends of Dawn is a goddamn disaster.
Leviathyn, 6/10.
All in all Legends of Dawn definitely isn't the worst game out there. It'll bring back some nostalgic feelings for old school PC RPG players, but it will also bring back some of the headaches old games have with a lack of user friendliness and lots of bugs. Honestly, you'd probably be better off playing the same old titles you used to play for the same nostalgic effect.
Indie Game Reviewer, 2/5.
The game also suffers from design decisions that were clearly focused on attracting a hardcore audience but are often simply awkward for the sake of it. These factors combined make for an uncomfortable adventuring experience that doesn't live up to the aspirations of the developers. With more time and some well thought through patches, Legends of Dawn could evolve into a superb and complex open world RPG. At the moment, however, it is impossible to recommend a game that is so weighed down with glitches and design flaws.
