On a tangent:
I can't stress this enough, a big part of the addiction for EQ and the value of that game is the aesthetically pleasing character models, especially females since most of the players are men. This is not to say that a game with only alien races will not prosper, but it's not going to compete with a game that has humans and people we can relate to, even more so beautiful humans as well as average and below average. Making an MMORPG? This should be design rule #1. Of course, that's just if you want to make more money.
