Cleric
Clerics can use any armor, but they are restricted from using slashing and piercing
weapons. They gain 1-8 hit points per level, not counting their constitution bonus,
if any. Clerics are capped at level 6.
Fighter
Fighters can use any weapons and armor. They gain 1-10 hit points per level, not
counting their constitution bonus, if any. Fighters are capped at level 8.
Magic User
Magic users can use very little in the way of equipment, relying on their spells to
do damage and their friends to protect them. They gain 1-4 hit points per level,
not counting their constitution bonus, if any. Magic users are capped at level 6.
Thief
Thieves can only use one-handed weapons, and they're restricted to leather armor.
They gain 1-6 hit points per level, not counting their constitution bonus, if any.
Thieves are capped at level 9.
