Bioware does it again. Whereas Mass Effect was an incredible opening chapter to a massive saga yet to unfold, Mass Effect II finally makes good on the team's ambitions. Mass Effect 2 gives gamers their first tangible taste of how their decisions really do alter the entire game's structure not just in this instalment, but from the first game. Once again, the presentation is sterling; the lip-synching and facial animations are further refined, environments look larger and more detailed, the script sparkles with originality and all of our quibbles with the combat and interface have been addressed. Prepare to lose yourself (and your friends) all over again for a while.
