Another aide stormed into my office, dragging with him an enormous map of the region marked up with copious red dots. "Your army stands at the ready, sir!" he exclaimed, pointing to the dots with a feathery quill. "What are your orders?"
I stood up, strolled purposefully around my desk, and evaluated the map. This was going to take some serious tactical and grand strategic analysis, and I was short on time. "Here's what we need to do," I said. I drew a circle around every single soldier in our army with a finger. "Take all these guys... and send them here." I pointed to a far corner of the map, mentally right-clicking.
My aide drew his eyes open wide, then craned to peer his head over the top of the map. "But sir, you're ordering them through a dangerous area!"
"You don't know that for sure. It's a blank spot that says 'Here there be dragons.'"
"But, yes, yes literally, there ... there be dragons." He fumbled with the map, its corners rolling down as he shifted about. "And over here, where you ordered them, it hasn't been explored at all. We haven't lifted the fog of war!"
