Dungeon Siege II also grants each character powers, as well as skills. Powers are dependent on the skill tree, so they're directly related to how you're building your character. For instance, missile fighters can learn "charged shot," which adds massive lightning damage to their arrows, or "repulse," which knocks back attacking enemies. But for charged shot, they have to spend skill points to raise their critical strike, whereas for repulse, they have to spend their skill points to improve their dodge ability. It'll take a lot of character development before you can afford both.
