Background
You scramble up a ladder and through an accessway where the sewer system spits you out into the Hong Kong Mass Transit Railway system -- the MTR. Crossing the rails, you climb up to the platform and into the station.
Above you is Heoi, where the rat shaman and the little decker plan to plead your case to Kindly Cheng, the one woman they know who can help you get underground and off the grid fast. But there'll be a price -- Cheng is a triad boss whose favors tend to come with strings attached.
The sounds of a waterfront at night leak down from the stairway to the surface. Peering up the steps, you can catch a glimpse of the night sky, overcast and low.
Karma Points
- [6] Talk to Kindly Cheng (#2).
Walkthrough
You'll arrive in Heoi via the MTR system (Exit A). Gobbet will inform you that Kindly Cheng can be found at the Swift Winds Mahjong Parlor, and she'll warn you not to talk to anyone while you're making your way there. You might as well heed her advice. Almost nobody (other than the smuggler, #1) will have anything to say to you.
When you reach Kindly Cheng (#2), she'll agree to help you out -- provided you do a job for her first. She'll tell you that one of her "business associates," a man named Strangler Bao, has decided to stop following her orders, and she'll ask you to deliver a message to him. She'll then hand you a Data Stick containing the message, and she'll request that you not kill Bao or any of his people since they're really her people. Cheng will also tell you about meeting with Raymond Black about the Walled City, and how at one point he said, "I left prosperity in there." But she won't know what he meant.
To complete the mission, you'll just need to head to the Walled City (Exit B). When you get there, you'll be allowed to take either Gobbet or Is0bel with you. Decking (which Is0bel has) will net you a paydata item. Spirit Summoning (which Gobbet has) will net you a point of karma. If you have one of those skills on your main character, then take the companion with the other skill. Otherwise, take Gobbet since karma is more important than money.
