The Virtual Console is the true treasure trove of RPG content on Wii, without a doubt. Whatever the Wii has lacked in new exclusives for the genre it's made up for by re-offering the best of the best from the past.
You can get Final Fantasy II, as mentioned, but also the original NES classic that started the entire series, Final Fantasy. Final Fantasy III (a.k.a. VI) just joined them both a week ago, and it's been named the best sequel in the series time and time again.
The collaborative dream-team masterpiece Chrono Trigger is also on sale in emulated form, and also will run you just eight dollars an absolute steal for such a magical experience considering the nearest alternative option is the $39.99 DS port and copies of the SNES original cartridge are somewhere near 80 bucks on eBay.
There's more. The three-player adventure of Secret of Mana is here. Nintendo's incredible joint project with Square, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, is just a Wiimote click away. The original Paper Mario from the N64 is on sale.
And there are classics from other, non-Nintendo systems Sega's Phantasy Star, Phantasy Star II, Phantasy Star III and Phantasy Star IV are all in attendance. The Shining Force games. Landstalker. Beyond Oasis. Sword of Vermilion. The list goes on and on.
