NIGHT OF THE MOTH UPDATE NOW LIVE

We released our final update of the year for Fallout 76 earlier this week, which brought the new Mothman Equinox Seasonal Event to the game, kicked off Season 7, implemented a wide variety of quality-of-life and public event improvements, and applied a new wave of bug fixes. If you haven’t had the chance to keep up with what’s new in Appalachia, we’ve got you covered. Check out our video and the list of patch highlights below to get caught up to speed on the Night of the Moth Update.
  • Mothman Equinox: Point Pleasant has been transformed by a sect of the Mothman Cult who call themselves the “Enlightened.” Join other Dwellers on the roof of the Mothman Museum every hour at the top of the hour to aid the Enlightened in performing a dark ritual to summon the Wise Mothman and earn the cryptid’s favor. The Mothman Equinox Seasonal Event is available now, and lasts until December 21.
  • New Season, Scoreboard, and Rewards: Doctor Zorbo is out for revenge following his defeat at the hands of Captain Cosmos during Season 1, and you’re going to help him carry out his plot on the new Season 7 Scoreboard. Complete challenges to earn S.C.O.R.E. and unlock a host of new rewards as you rank up this season, including new Allies, in-game currencies, consumables, Power Armor and weapon skins, outfits, C.A.M.P. items, and much more.
  • Quality-of-Life Improvements: Loot lots of nearby corpses all at once, claim legendary items from nearby legendary enemies even if you didn’t manage to hit them, share in the XP from your teammates’ creature kills, keep track of new plans you’ve learned in the C.A.M.P. build menu, customize your Pip-Boy menu colors, and more with our latest round of quality-of-life improvements for Fallout 76.
  • Public Event Balance Changes: With this patch, we’ve streamlined the Public Event system so that a new event starts every 20 minutes in real time. Alongside this, we’ve also implemented a variety of balance changes for events like Radiation Rumble, Project Paradise, Line in the Sand, Swarm of Suitors, Tea Time, and many others.

THE HOLIDAY SCORCHED RETURN DECEMBER 21!

The days are growing colder, Dwellers throughout Appalachia have begun adorning their homes with twinkling lights, and even the Scorched are prepping their most festive attire as we approach the holidays. Starting December 21, get into the spirit of the season by keeping an eye out for Santa-suited “Holiday Scorched,” and listening close for their jingling bells as you adventure around the Wasteland. Each one that you take down will drop a Holiday Gift, which you can open to get a few treats and a chance at rare loot, like new C.A.M.P. item plans. While you’re on the hunt for presents, keep in mind that Holiday Scorched spawn as legendary 1- to 3-star creatures, and they will only appear in exterior locations.

Additionally, don’t forget to visit your favorite vendor to pick up some wrapping paper in exchange for caps. You can bring your wrapping paper to a Tinker’s bench to craft Holiday Gifts of your own, and then open them to get even more loot. The Scorched plan to spread holiday cheer in Appalachia until January 4, so be sure to fill your stocking with goodies by then.
