If you are looking for a game with some intense yet simple action while at the same time mixing in a deep story and other fleshed out RPG elements, then look no further than X-Men Legends. I have had more fun with this game than most I have played to date on the Xbox and this is no small feat. It probably helps that I have always been a big fan of the X-Men. The inclusion of a compelling story that feels right within the universe really engages you. Raven and Activision have done themselves proud and hit the mark here. Hopefully other game developers will take some notes and deliver additional games of this caliber in the future and also give gamers the choice of how they want to play it. All in all, this one is more than worth the 50 greenbacks you will shell out. Impressive. Most impressive!
The second is at Inside Gamer Online with an overall score of 8.2/10:
Defeating swarms of countless bad guys is one of gaming's oldest and purest joys. X-Men Legends is a prime example of a game that taps into the fun to be had in that, offering a wonderful variety of characters who possess a wonderful variety of powers you can use to battle your enemies. With a story that X-Men fans will enjoy, they may get the most out of this title that makes such great use of the license, but anyone with a hankering to take out lots of bad guys in style won't be disappointed by X-Men Legends.
And the third is at Next Level Gaming with an overall score of 87/100 (Xbox) and 86/100 (PS2):
The X-Men series has finally I think found a place to realy shine in X-Men Legends. The action-RPG element really gave Raven Soft the ability to expand on the characters and give you more control than you've ever had with them. The addition of little things like HDTV support don't hurt either. All in all a very solid game, and one that I think you will truly enjoy. This is one to definitely sink some time into. I know I did. And well, I still am. I'm playing levels again with different characters to see the outcome. Anyway, here's to another fine Activision game!
